Hophaus in the heart of Melbourne's Southbank shopping and eating complex is a new food venue which prides itself in offering 30 different beer types on tap and wonderful traditional, yet exciting new German food. Choose from Koelsch, Hefeweizen, Dunkel or Helles Bier, different regions with their fast variety of beer are available. Now it's "Oktoberfest time" and new venues to host this German traditional  Volksfest (people fair) are sprouting like mushrooms in Melbourne. So Hophaus is the newest one to join the list of beer festival venues. There first "Hoptoberfest" will kick off at midday on Saturday, 20 September with a "tapping of the keg", a sausage eating competition and German music and entertainment throughout the day.
Traditional Bavarian Food Specials with our modern twist and Special Oktoberfest Bier will be served throughout the festival especially flown in from Bavaria, Germany. We shall have Live German Entertainment each weekend as well so join in the festivities.
